The long awaited NEW Audubon Center in Moss Point will begin to “rise out of the ground” as Coastal Waste Company, Inc. of Biloxi gets to work next week. We look forward to enjoying the exciting amenities and the building, designed by Eley, Guild, Hardy Architects. Unique elements of the building include a Fine Art, Nature based Gallery & Meeting Room, an interpretation area and aquaria, and elevated decks and porches that provide scenic views of bayou and river habitats.

 The grounds of the site will also be transformed into a Native Plant Botanical Garden that demonstrates the beauty of using native plants in any landscape setting. Other features include the historic trolley line (1900 to 1925) that runs through the site and its link to Moss Point’s role in shipbuilding and logging, plus the 80-plus year old “Scout Hut” that supported one of the oldest Boy Scout Troops in the region and nation.
